Referencing the Hebrew prophets I mentioned, both Isaiah and Micah spoke of "the Assyrian" who would invade G-d's land. The context of these prophecies show that the Assyrian invasion of their day was only a foreshadowing of a yet future invasion that G-d would confound. This could be coupled with the reference to "Gog" who is stated to be "of the land of Magog" which is a geographical location in the area around the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. This is in the vicinity of the ancient Assyrian empire. The prophecy says he will be allied with among other nations Persia, modern day Iran. With all this in mind I cannot see that Obama is a candidate by a long shot.

Thank you for your interesting discourse on Gog and Magog. In the passage in Esekiel it is mentioned of Gog, "Are you he of whom I have spoken in former days by My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied for years in those days that I would bring you against them?" This tells me that prophets before the time of Ezekiel spoke of the same invasion. These may be Isaiah, Jeremiah, Joel and Micah. What do you make of this, in the light of the possibility you mention of the event not expiring at all?
