Wow! What a week! We started off on Monday by splitting into 2 teams for TEAM DAY! One team focused on the importance of each individual letter in the Torah and each Jew, while the other team spoke about the importance of the unity of all of the letters together to form one Torah as well as the unity of all Jews. We prepared really creative banners portraying these themes as well as skits. Besides for our hysterical relay races and talented performances, we had a grand time splashing in the water! We ended off our day with both teams winning and getting delicious SLURPEES!
On Tuesday, the fast of Tammuz 17, we spoke all about the destruction of the Bais Hamikdash and the coming of Moshiach. We then played a fantastic game of Escape from Golus with a lot of interesting and funny steps on the way. Before we knew it, we were off to PUMP IT UP!!! And I almost forgot our awesome CAMP PICTURE!!!
Wednesday was Mezuza day! We had a super splashy morning in the SWIMMING POOL and tons of water fun! We dried off by making gorgeous MEZUZA CASES! Between our ballgame, play dough making, and preparing for our performance, it was jam-packed smashing day!
And then came Thursday, Tefillin day! We got to meet a soldier and hear about the importance and power of Tefillin. We prepared more for our performances together with the younger division before we settled down to make delicious brownies for our mock wedding the next day! (But, shhhhh, it was a surprise!) We then ran out to collect as many beans as we could. Our points reached into the thousands and even more. We put those aside so that we could go BOWLING! But, we didn’t finish the day there! We came back for a super CHINESE AUCTION, where we bid for prizes with our beans!
Friday, our last day of campL, was our last day to pack as much as we could in! We summed up everything that we had learned over camp and got ready for our performance later on. Then, together with the younger division we had a fantastically superb MOCK WEDDING!!! It was the full blown thing – with a bride, groom, chuppa, dancing, and even a wedding feast with those delicious brownies we had made! Before we knew, it had turned into a SHABBOS PARTY, when we watched the video of Shabbos Menucha! After we had calmed down a bit with lunch, we launched a super CLEANUP. We passed our inspection with flying colors. Then we raced over to the Chabad House to set up for the most stupendous PERFORMANCE put on by CGI of Charlotte County 5771! Even with all of that rain, we put on a beautiful performance, got awards, camp pictures, and watched our CAMP VIDEO!
It has been a wonderful summer and we will miss you all tonz! Can’t wait to see you all back next year!
YOUNGER DIVISION!
What an amazing week we had together!
Monday – We discussed how we can do mitzvos with our head! Although our thoughts can’t be seen, neither can Hashem – and that’s who we want to think about! We got to decorate really cool sun visors with our names on it! We also got to go watch the big kids put on some really funny performances!
Tuesday - What a busy day Tuesday was! It was a fast day and we discussed what we can do to bring Moshiach now! Water water water – we had such a blast, jumping in our pool and dancing in the sprinklers! Before we could even really rest up it was off to pump it up! We sure used out all our energy that day!
Wednesday – Our heart – what an important part of our body – we use our heart to feel our love for each other and to feel Happy when we do mitzvos! We got to hunt for heart lollypops and than make one big heart out of all of them!
Thursday – HM do you smell something yummy? Something sweet, something sour? Yup even our noses can be used for mitzvos! What a fun day we had. Water day hooray! Not only did we jump and play in our pool and sprinkler this time we played water hopscotch too.
Friday – Oh wow did you see that bride? How about those beautiful flower girls? The Groom, moms, the dads, photographers and musicians! What are they doing here at camp Gan Izzy? What fun, a Mock wedding- what a wonderful time we had! In addition to braiding the challa this week we also got to make the dough – what terrific helpers we had. It’s so sad to say goodbye – but goodbye we said at our wonderful end of camp performance – We will miss you all!
All in all, it was a stupendous, smashing, awesome, and fantastic summer! We can’t wait to see you all next year!
