On the heels of Helene, Milton has brought even more devastating flooding to Punta Gorda. Punta Gorda is without power, homes and businesses flooded once again. The Punta Gorda Jewish Community Center had about a foot of water and also has no power. We are trying to assess and see how much more damage we sustained.
Help us help our community, help those without power, help those that were flooded, and see how we can get ourselves situated on time for Yom Kippur.
Hurricane Helene didn't seem like a big threat for Charlotte Couny, but unfortunately, Punta Gorda experienced a huge storm surge, bringing flooding to the entire area, flooding many homes and businesses. Early this morning, the entire Punta Gorda Jewish Community Center was covered in a few inches of water. A Water restoration company has already begun ripping out the carpeting in the entire building, opening walls and removing ruined furniture. We need your assistance to help restore the building quickly to have it usuable in time for the High Holidays, as our Synagogue, Jewish Community center, and school, being able to continue serving the community at this time.
If you know of who needs help or needs to be checked up on, please, have them reach out to us, so we can help them in any way possible as soon as possible.

Come by for a cold drink, a hot coffee, charge your phone or computer. From 1-5 pm there will be hot food available for anyone who would like. After 4 PM there will be ready shabbat meals for pickup
