Hurricane Helene didn't seem like a big threat for Charlotte Couny, but unfortunately, Punta Gorda experienced a huge storm surge, bringing flooding to the entire area, flooding many homes and businesses. Early this morning, the entire Punta Gorda Jewish Community Center was covered in a few inches of water. A Water restoration company has already begun ripping out the carpeting in the entire building, opening walls and removing ruined furniture. We need your assistance to help restore the building quickly to have it usuable in time for the High Holidays, as our Synagogue, Jewish Community center, and school, being able to continue serving the community at this time.
